Wow, we're the same age +/-. Yet I (would) have the forethought to put on some damned long sleeves if my arms looked like this. I'm sorry. We're I the judge I couldn't let this person have custody of a stuffed animal, let alone a child.
While I am sure it's just him attaching his name to this class action suit..I could sure use the $13.86USD check I just got from those beasts in the "recording industry." The suit was by the Attys General of 43 states and 3 Canuck provvies. I wonder who were the 7 loser states that decided it was ok for the "recording industry" to steal from it's citizens? In any even Roy Cooper has been sure his name got attached to the efforts to stem the tide of telemarketers... the N.C. General Assembly passed Senate Bill 872, which prohibits intrastate telemarketers from soliciting calls to North Carolina consumers. The bill was sponsored by Sen. Scott Thomas and Reps. Harold Brubaker and Drew Saunders. FYI.
The village of Hooh Yoh (Three villages together) has had all their land taken by the Thai government in the last months of 2003. 250 families, 1019 people. All told to leave without consideration. I feel certain you are aware of this outrage and that deep down you really want to paint a more harmonious picture of life in Thailand.
However, absent of any action on the issue of Hooh Yoh the people of ASEAN, and the USA in general will undoubtably take notice of this inexplicable travesty and invest their dollars, and other currencies in more civil and humane countries. In addition a boycott of Thai goods everywhere is now in effect. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick will be notified of the actions of his people's defiance of this land grab by the heretofore unnamed governmental agencies of Thailand.
Hooh Yoh Akha village is in Ampur Mae Faluang, Chiangrai province of north Thailand. Taking this land was decided without any permission or consultation of the villagers. Now the villagers are afraid to go out and farm. Eight villagers were arrested and fined $400 to get out of jail. Two of the women spent 15 days in jail while 8 months plus pregnant.
Now the same eight villagers are told by the Chiangrai Forestry Chief and Mr. Hoh Nah Gkay Gkah that they must pay $4000 more apiece or go back to jail, for farming near their homes.
Does that sound fair to you?
Sincerely,
doombilly

4)I'm finally starting to get on top of my finances. Well sort of. There are renewed concerns about layoffs at the County this summer (new FY). But I am trying to stay positive.
